Ever since the time I was in kindergarten, I knew I wanted to be an artist. More than anything else I loved drawing and making things.
I attended UCSB and graduated with a degree in art. I was fortunate to get my first job as a layout artist at a large Bay Area newspaper. Although this job wasn’t very creative, I went on to work in design and advertising which have been an asset to my work as a freelance illustrator.
Years later I was asked to illustrate and design my first children’s book, The Jazz Fly and this year, its newly published sequel, Jazz Fly 2: The Jungle Pachanga. I’m also busy illustrating board games for kids and decorative materials for classrooms. Throughout my career, I’ve met many wonderful clients and now work mostly in the children’s publishing and toy markets.
When I’m not at my computer, ideas and inspiration come from running on trails in remote, beautiful places. I live in Santa Rosa, California with my husband Bob and four English Bulldogs: Pearl, Scarlett, Madeline and Elroy.
